ELTE Law School hosts ELI2020 annual conference
ELTE Law Shool won the honour to host the 2020 Annual Conference and Meetings of the European Law Institute (ELI) residing in Wien. The event shall take place between 09 – 11 September 2020. Besides our Faculty the Hungarian Supreme Court and the Hungarian Constitutional Court are the co-organizers of the event. The host of the 2020 annual conference was appointed by this year's conference back in September 2019. ELTE Law School is the first institution in Central Europe to have won the distinction of hosting ELI’s annual conference.

ELI is a prestigious, independent organization that follows and researches the development of EU law aiming to improve the quality of European law. Its events provide an unique international platform for common work and establishing contacts among professionals dealing with European law all over Europe. Each year the annual conference is the main event of ELI setting a standard among such events on international level. It is an ideal meeting place for the European legal community attended by the most prominent figures of the profession.

In preparation for the event an Organising Committee has been set up at our Faculty led by prof. Miklós Király, head of department and Dr. Tamás Szabados, seniour lecturer. ELI Secretary General Vanessa Wilcox has recently visited our Faculty to discuss organisational matters and to meet prof. Pál Sonnevend, dean and Dr. Krisztina Rozsnyai, vice-dean.
