ELTE wins bronze medal at the Media Law World Final in Oxford

Similarly to last year, the students of the Faculty of Law of ELTE – by winning the European regional selection held in Paris in February 2025 – made it to the top thirty teams in the world this year as well.
The world final, hosted each year by the University of Oxford, saw them compete twice as defendants and twice as claimants in group matches against a total of four universities: the Singapore Management University (Singapore), the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law (USA), Tarlac State University (Philippines) and the National Law University Delhi (India).
Based on the results of the group rounds, the ELTE Law team qualified amongst the sixteen best teams in the world, where they met the team of the University of the Philippines (Philippines), and were eliminated from the competitions by a 2-1 margin, arguing in the role of defendants. The world final was won by the National Law University Delhi (India) against Singapore Management University (Singapore).
In addition to the excellent oral result, ELTE’s team has won the bronze medal in the competition for all written submissions in the contest.
The members of the participating group in the 2025 Oxford world finals were: Martin Fekete, Jázmin Gondos, Johanna Lichy, Szonja Ruszkai, Eszter Szentesi. The coaching instructor this year was again Gergely Gosztonyi, whose work was greatly assisted by former team members as co-coaches (Dr. János Bálint, Dr. Barbara Darcsi, Dr. Mária Góth, Dr. Ábel Bulcsú Kovács).
