His academic work covers the history of substantive (contract) law and procedural codification, as well as insolvency law (domestic, international and European), which is of particular practicalimportance. In the field of insolvency law, he is the author and co-author of numerous German commentaries, textbooks and manuals, the author of six monographs or commentaries of monographic size, and has published hundreds of articles.
