Professor Peter-Tobias Stoll, Professor at the Georg-August Universität Göttingen in Germany, Head of the Department of International Economic and Environmental Law, Co- Director of the Institute of International and European Law and the Institute of Agricultural Law, will be awarded an honorary doctorate by the ELTE Senateon 12 May 2023.

Professor will give his honorary doctoral lecture entitled The protection of Intra-EU investments: Putting the EU'srule of law to the test.

Professor Stoll is an internationally recognized authority on international and EU law, in particular economic andenvironmental law, both in academia and in practice. He has published widely on various aspects of international economic and environmental law, and is the author and co-author of numerous commentaries, textbooks and handbooks in German, with hundreds of publications, including seven monographs or monograph-sized commentaries. He is co- chairman of the International Economic Law Group of the European International LawAssociation and a founder member of the International Law Association's Group on Preferential Trade Agreements,and a visiting professor at several prestigious universities.
