In this year's Times Higher Education (THE) Top Law Schools ranking, 425 universities from 53 countries were evaluated. Our faculty was placed in the 301–400 range, securing a shared first place nationally. The result confirms that ELTE's legal education remains among the best in international comparison, in an extremely strong and increasingly fierce global competition.
The Times measures the strengths of legal education and research based on 18 different criteria. The evaluation relies on five fundamental pillars, which are education, research environment, research quality, industry relevance, and international outlook. This year's list is led by Stanford University's law faculty.
Being included in the list itself is a significant recognition, and the 300-400th place in the ranking positions our institution among the top tier of law faculties worldwide.
In recent years, more and more law faculties have entered the Times Higher Education ranking, especially from regions outside Europe, which has significantly increased the competition. In this environment, ELTE's Faculty of law has maintained a stable presence and continues to be a leading legal education institution in Hungary in international rankings.
Thus, ELTE's result can be interpreted not just as a place in a ranking but as evidence that the faculty has maintained its international competitiveness and remains a visible player in global legal higher education.
