The Budapest Pre-Moot is among the TOP10 Vis Pre-Moots

Based on the decision of the editors of the Vis Moot guide, the “The Complete (but unofficial) Guide to the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot” (ed.: Dr. Jörg Risse, publisher: C.H. Beck, Hart, Nomos), the Budapest Pre-Moot was chosen to be one of the TOP 10 Vis Pre-Moots held in 2014.

Every year thousands of law students, professors and arbitration practitioners gather in Vienna on the occasion of the largest and most prestigious international commercial arbitration moot court, the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot. The Budapest Pre-Moot, hosted by the ELTE Law School, is one of the official pre-moots of this event. This year thirty-nine teams from eighteen countries participated at the 4th Budapest Pre-Moot in early April (April 7 – 10, 2014). During the days of the Budapest Pre-Moot the participants could not only practice their advocacy skills at the more than seventy-five hearings, but also had the opportunity to meet law students, law professors and practitioners from Hungary and all over the world and discover Budapest. The head organizer of the Budapest Pre-Moot is Istvan Erdos, who is an assistant professor at the Department of Private International Law and European Economic Law. This year, as in the previous years, the Budapest Pre-Moot was sponsored by the law firms Kajtár Takács Hegymegi-Barakonyi Baker & McKenzie and CMS Cameron McKenna.
