Invitation - Courage That Changes the World

Brian Palmer is a social anthropologist and scholar of religion at Uppsala University in Sweden. Previously he taught at Harvard. His courses there on civic courage and engagement attracted as many as 600 students per term, and in 2002 Brian was awarded the Levenson Prize as Harvard’s best lecturer.

Brian Palmer is haunted by such individuals who risk everything for a more humane society. He gathers wisdom from heroic lives and applies it to everyday questions of surviving as an idealist in an unforgiving world. What can our bravest contemporaries and fallen friends teach us about how to live?

The lecture will be held in the frame of NOHA Spring School on Humanitarian Action.

Date: 11 May, 18:00
Venue: ELTE ÁJK (Egyetem tér 1-3.) Lecture Hall VI.
