Elections for the members of the Council of the European Law Institute (ELI) took place from 6–8 September 2021. Tamás Szabados has been elected as the sole Hungarian member of the Council.

The Council is the management body of the Institute whose members are elected for four years. Currently, the Council consists of 55 members. From this, 28 members were (re)elected at the 2021 elections. 

ELI is one of the most reputed organisations in the field of the research and practice of European law. It conducts research, makes recommendations, provides practical guidance and organises events to promote European legal development.
