Databases
Lecturers and students of the ELTE Faculty of Law can access the subscribed legal databases remotely after a unified university IT identification.

The university's so-called VPN (Virtual Private Network) network is required for home use of the databases. After accessing the network, the home computer will act as if it was physically in the University building.

To use VPN, you need to download and install the program called FortiClient on your home computer, and then submit a VPN request on the Case Management interface operated by the ELTE IT Directorate as follows:

  1. Log in to the ELTE IIG Case Manager interface.
  2. Click on the VPN request menu item in the left sidebar.
  3. Enter your ELTE IIG ID in the form. If you want to use a different password than your IIG password, select it in the checkbox and enter a new password.
  4. After the settings, you can log in with your IIG ID and password. The program will appear in the taskbar in the lower right corner during use.

(With a VPN, you can not only use faculty-subscribed databases from home, but also university subscriptions.)

Based on agreements with service providers, you can access the databases from your own device without restrictions in the following ways:

  • Wolters Kluwer Jogtár® (Hungarian legislation database): The database can be accessed by clicking on the eduID-Login button on the Jogtár eduID login page, after ELTE IIG identification (= ELTE caesar identifier). It can also be used via VPN.
  • Orac Jogkódex(Hungarian legislation database), Orac SzakcikkAdabázis (hungarian scientific journal database), Beck Online, Westlaw, HeinOnline, KluwerArbitration, and other foreign databases subscribed to by the faculty and university: can be used with VPN from your own devices. A detailed description of this can be found above. A detailed list of the databases can be browsed below.
  • You can find additional international databases subscribed by the ELTE University at the ELTE University Library website.
