Anatolij Kosztruba ukrán jogász, a párizsi Sorbonne kutatója tart angol nyelvű előadást.

Tort law is one of the most exciting topics in private law, since it reflects the system of values in society. Many national and international research projects are conducted in this field, nevertheless the tort laws of the "East" are definitely underresearched and there is a very limited knowledge on the tort laws of our neighbours. The Civil Code of Ukraine has included provisions on torts since 2004. However, Ukrainian tort law is characterised in a particular way due to the regulation of a significant part of special torts in separate normative acts. Our distinguished guest speaker will provide us with an overview on the Ukranian tort law with some comparative observations regarding other Eastern European legal systems, including an analysis in the light of general tendencies in European tort law.

Anatoliy Kostruba is a professor of private law with a special interest on contracts, torts and company law. He has been teaching at Tavrida National V.I. Vernadsky University since 2003 and and at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Ukraine since 2015. Professor Kostruba is a member of the Academic Council attached to the Supreme Court of Ukraine. Recently, he has taught and teaches at Vilnius University, Lithuania (including courses to students from Ukranian higher education institutions who had suspended their studies due to Russia's military aggression), gave courses as a visiting professor at the University of Bologna, and commencing from 2023, he works as a researcher affiliated with University Paris 1 Panthéon – Sorbonne.
