Call for Papers – The complex relationship of EU law and member states’ laws in times of crisis

To have the opportunity to reflect on the impact of multiple crises on the evolution of EU law from a sectoral perspective, this conference shall include workshops entitled “A Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed”, where international and Hungarian scholars can give insights into the very special relationship of EU law and national laws in times of crises in workshops organised for the different fields of law. For this reason we launch this call for papers.
The workshops would take place subsequent to the conference in the early afternoon on Friday 12 April and be continued until Saturday midday at ELTE Law School in Budapest. The workshops’ aim is to further elaborate on the recent developments of the complex relationship of EU law and member states’ laws with regard to the recent crises. Papers are welcome from all fields of law, be it criminal law, private law or public law and their different disciplines.
The organizers aim to include the papers discussed at the workshop – after a double blind peer review – in the forthcoming volumes of the journals of the Faculty (ELTE Law Journal or the Annales). The conference will serve also to discuss draft contributions helping speakers to finalize their papers.
