The ELTE Vis Moot Court team has advanced to the semifinals of the 4th Athens Vis Pre-Moot international commercial law moot court competition.
The Athens Vis Pre-Moot is the international preliminary round of the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court. The Vis Moot is the largest and most prestigious international commercial arbitration moot court competition, based each year on a complex case that raises numerous procedural and substantive legal issues.
The members of this year’s ELTE Vis Moot team are: Donát Tisza, Ádám Hegedűs, András Kukri, and Szabolcs Pál. Donát Tisza and Ádám Hegedűs represented the team during the hearings. In the general rounds of the competition, our students had to argue both for the plaintiff and the defendant four times in quick succession. Based on the points earned during the general rounds, our team advanced to the semifinals. The team from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf in Germany ultimately took first place. The team’s coach is Dr. István Erdős.

Our students’ participation in the Vis Moot program and their professional preparation were supported by
- Hegymegi-Barakonyi and Fehérváry Baker McKenzie Law Firm,
- A&O Shearman Kádár Law Firm,
- Lakatos, Köves and Partners Law Firm,
- DLA Piper Posztl, Nemescsói, Györfi-Tóth and Partners Law Firm,
