My research focuses on European criminal law, including the combating the financing of terrorism , which includes fight against money laundering and sexual offences against children. The latter two areas of substantive law are significantly influenced by the need for European integration and the convergence of legal systems, thus superseding the analysis of double criminality, giving priority to the principle of mutual recognition and the wider application of the ne bis in idem principle across the legal disciplines.
